Start of the School Day

Our school day starts at 8.50am.    

Both the Egremont Road and Merton Road gates open at 8.40am. Children should make their way straight to their classrooms, where they will be welcomed by a member of staff.

To ensure the safety and security of everyone on site, both gates close promptly at 8.50am. Children arriving after this time must enter through the main reception and be signed in by an adult.

Arriving late can be unsettling for children and disrupts learning for both your child and the rest of the class. Wherever possible, please ensure your child arrives on time each day.

If your child has a medical appointment, we kindly ask that these are arranged outside school hours whenever possible. Similarly, we ask that children are not collected early unless it is absolutely necessary, as this can interrupt their learning and the learning of others.

End of the School Day

• EYFS and Key Stage 1: 3.10pm
• Key Stage 2: 3.15pm

Both school gates open at 3.05pm.

Parents and carers of children in EYFS and Key Stage 1 should wait outside their child's classroom, where staff will dismiss pupils safely.

Parents and carers of Key Stage 2 pupils should wait on the top playground, where children will be dismissed by their class teacher.

Reporting an Absence

If your child is unwell and unable to attend school, please notify us before 8.30am each day they are absent.

Absences can be reported by:

• completing the online absence form, available under the Parents section of our website; or
• telephoning the school office on 01622 734539 and selecting Option 1.

Please include:

• your child's full name;
• their class; and
• the reason for their absence.

If you inform your child's class via ClassDojo, you must still report the absence using the online form or by telephone, as ClassDojo is not our official attendance reporting system.

For safeguarding and attendance purposes, absences must be reported each day your child is unable to attend school.
